How it was

You make me want to draw
beautiful people, objects, landscapes,
your optimism gives me
the courage to start
makes me feel as if
I can do anything.
It can be difficult
for me to draw
when I am without motivation,
my perfectionism
prevents me from finishing
But you —
When you see my work,
even with its flaws,
You smile
such a smile wills me
to keep going
to finish
to continue, afterwards
for this — I am thankful,
Now, how might I on my own?
With passion?
But what if the face
is not akin…
Maybe of obligation?
A task or assignment
in need of finishing…
Those are the things
which motivate me.
Should it be you that I draw next?
