Pretty Little Things

We’re all just pretty little things
that big boys
in their tight shoes
like to play with,
look at,
but only touch,
when they expect something
in return.
Consistencies that pretty little girls
must get used to,
as they grow into beautiful, exceptional women,
who are already accustomed
to being used and misused
for some big man’s goals
who remind those pretty little things
what they’re worth
An object,
to stare at,
touch gently,
a conquest
for mortals meeting models,
divine beauty
made into a spectacle
for ugly little girls
that haven’t yet discovered their worth
in a city that pedestals beauty,
and ignores sensibility.
